About Lake Vermilion…
Known also as the Lake of the Sunset Glow, Lake Vermilion truly lives up to its billing as one of the most beautiful destinations in northern Minnesota. Many years ago, the Ojibwe Indian tribe began calling the lake, “Onamuni,” meaning Lake of the Sunset Glow, as a result of its celestial glow at sunset.
